The Abandoned Villa Nottebohm in Belgium

The Villa Nottebohm is a villa from the early 20th-century that can be found in Antwerp, Belgium,’s forest-rich neighborhood. It was built for the wealthy Nottebohm family as a getaway in the country. It was occasionally visited during the holidays by the family. On the outskirts of a small village was the villa. The surrounding forest provided a tranquil setting.

Over 58 hectares make up the Nottebohm property, with the Nottebohm Villa in the center that was built in 1908 and 1909. Until 1943, the family regularly lived Château Nottebohm, which served as a rural getaway.

During the Second World War, the villa was temporarily taken over by the German army. The villa was fortunate to survive the war intact. However, the family did not return to the villa. It eventually became a hotel with a restaurant after being rented out.

It was put up for sale in the 80s. Sadly, it never got sold. Conditions of neglect resulted from years of vacancy. In the end, the family applied to tear it down. This since they would have rather not paid the yearly opportunity expense of 30,000 euros any longer.

The request was initially rejected by the province due to its architectural significance. However, after filing an appeal with the court, the family was granted permission to demolish the villa because it had never been given a monumental status. a rather disappointing conclusion for this beautiful country home.

Access to the upper floors is either difficult or impossible due to the destruction of a large portion of the interior.

The suggestions suggest that the stately home’s stability is extremely poor and that it may collapse at any time. The LPI – International (League of Paranormal Investigators) even conducted a case on the Nottebohm Mansion, but the investigation was fruitless. The manor was also thought to be haunted.
