The tours will begin in the grand lobby and progress through speakeasy lounges and both levels of the 3,055-seat auditorium. Participants will learn about the architecture, history, and operations of the theater.

Kings Theatre was built in 1929 as one of the five original Loew’s Wonder Theatres, built by Loews to establish their prominence in the world of film and to increase people’s access to cinema during national tragedies such as the Great Depression and war.

The theatre, which was originally a movie palace and a live performance venue for vaudeville, closed down in 1979 and sat unused until 2013, when it underwent a comprehensive renovation that restored it to its former glory. It reopened as Kings Theatre in 2015, with Diana Ross making her debut.

The theatre, which is now managed by Ambassador Theatre Group, hosts a variety of world-class events on a regular basis, including live music, comedy, theatre, literary events, film shoots, private events, and more.

Visitors will be able to upgrade their tour to include two drinks and access to one of the theatre’s private speakeasies.
