Abandoned £3.6m mansion discovered – with a huge indoor pool and creepy leftover Lego

Amazing video from an abandoned million-dollar estate with marble floors, indoor gyms, pools, balconies, and a fantastic movie room went viral. The mansion has since been razed.

The viral video, which Kaizer Glick uploaded with his 40,000 YouTube subscribers, shows the daring 19-year-old as he enters the abandoned estate through an open backdoor and explores its many exquisitely vacant rooms. The mansion sold for $4.5 million (£3.6 million) in 2022.

This enormous 1990-built home included floor-to-ceiling windows that overlooked the tranquil Lake Michigan, Illinois, as well as an amazing indoor pool and a luxurious hot tub that were both in pristine condition. The space was empty of various children’s pool toys that the previous owners had forgotten.

“If I were to choose any home I’ve ever explored to live inside, this would be the definition of my dream home,” Glick said of the abandoned multi-story palace to NeedToKnow.co.uk.

With its high ceilings, hollow fireplaces, and wall-to-wall light fixtures, the dark, deserted house exudes a spooky aura. There was also a trampoline outside and leftover Lego toys on the ledge.

The toys in the now-deserted property were probably used by children. Amazingly, Joshua, a former resident, discovered the video and remarked, “Lived there for 16 damn years and you got the audacity to screw with my Legos.”

“I thought that was awesome to speak with the former resident,” Glick remarked afterwards. I did some research on him to be sure it was him.

Nicole, a commenter, astonishingly stated: “I had some of my fondest memories in that house growing up, as I was friends with one of the sons in middle and high school! You would have been in awe if you could have witnessed it during its peak!

Nevertheless, this impressive estate has since been dismantled; despite having only been constructed for 30 years, the opulent residence with its enormous indoor pool, gym, theater/cinema room, majestic marble flooring, and breathtaking vistas was destroyed.

Nothing remains. The thing that most surprised Glick, who witnessed the millions-dollar mansion demolished to make room for a new, custom home being built by the new owner, was how new it was for its demolition.

“I’ll never get why someone would want to demolish a house this lovely. One of the many perplexed commenters, Sandra, commented, “This is just plain crazy.”

The mansion is located in Highland Park, Illinois, a well-liked neighborhood for sportsmen and hoops players. Among them is the legendary Chicago Bulls player Michael Jordan, whose expansive suburban property is listed for £11.8 million ($14.8 million) on the market.
